What Sets Our Approach Apart

Six qualities that shape how work is carried out at Aroon Tempus — and why they matter for your watch.

Coastal Climate Expertise

Phuket's combination of salt air, heat, and humidity places demands on watches that temperate-climate workshops rarely encounter. Aroon Tempus has been built specifically around these conditions.

In-House Pressure Testing

A certified depth-pressure chamber on-site means dive watches and water-resistant pieces are tested properly — not merely inspected visually — before being returned to service.

A Written Account of Every Job

Every watch returned from the workshop comes with a written condition note. Owners know precisely what was found, what was replaced, and what to look for at the next service visit.

Stated Prices, No Additions

Service prices are provided before any work begins. There are no charges added after inspection without the owner's agreement. What is quoted is what is invoiced.

Adequate Time per Piece

High volume is not a goal at Aroon Tempus. Each watch receives the time it actually requires. Mechanical servicing is not shortened to meet a daily quota.

Direct Communication

Owners speak with the same small team throughout the process. There is no front-of-house layer that separates the customer from the watchmakers handling the work.

Professional Expertise

Training and Experience in the Right Conditions

The lead watchmaker at Aroon Tempus trained in Switzerland before working within the Thai watch care industry for several years. That background provides a foundation, but the work done in Phuket since 2018 has built a specific body of knowledge — how salt crystallises in lug recesses, how tropical rubber straps degrade, how marine movements differ in their service requirements from standard dress watches.

That accumulated experience is what makes the beach-wear refresh and marine chronometer services at Aroon Tempus different from a generic clean-and-service package.

Seven years of Phuket coastal environment experience
Specialist knowledge of dive and marine timepieces
Familiar with tropical strap and gasket behaviour

Certified in-house depth-pressure testing chamber
Regulated timing measurement across multiple positions
Controlled humidity storage throughout servicing
Helium escape valve inspection on applicable models

Technology & Equipment

The Right Tools for Coastal Watch Care

Many watch repair shops in Phuket send dive watches away for pressure testing. At Aroon Tempus, a certified depth-pressure chamber is part of the workshop itself. This allows the marine chronometer service to include a properly documented test result, and makes the beach-wear refresh more thorough than a simple visual inspection of gaskets.

Timing regulation is carried out across multiple positions, and a written result is included with the service report.

Customer Communication

Clear at Every Stage

A watch arriving for service is logged and a brief email confirmation is sent once it is in the workshop's hands. If anything unexpected is found during inspection — a crack in a crystal, a worn-through crown tube, a movement in worse condition than anticipated — the owner is contacted before work proceeds.

On collection, the written condition report is explained in plain language. No assumptions are made about the owner's technical knowledge.

Email confirmation when watch is logged in
Owner contacted if unexpected work is needed
Report explained at collection in plain language
Same small team throughout — no hand-offs

Fixed service prices stated before work begins
No charges added without owner agreement
Three-tiered services for different levels of care
Payment on collection after reviewing the report

Value & Pricing

Transparent from the First Conversation

The three services — beach-wear refresh at 4,500 THB, mechanical servicing with strap refresh at 8,200 THB, and marine chronometer calibration at 14,500 THB — are priced to reflect the actual scope of work involved, not a market rate inflated for a tourist-facing location.

Payment is collected on collection of the watch, after the owner has reviewed the condition report. There is no deposit required.

A Beach-Wear Refresh Service Built for Phuket

The beach-wear refresh is not a marketing term for a quick wipe-down. It is a structured service covering salt deposit removal, gasket inspection, crown tube checking, and pressure testing — designed for the specific wear patterns of a watch used regularly in the Andaman Sea.

Service Records Over Time

Owners who return with the same watch over several years build a running service history held by the workshop. This record informs future decisions about the piece — and is useful for insurance, valuation, or simply understanding how a calibre ages in a tropical environment.

Depth-Rated Testing with a Written Result

Dive watch owners who need documented confirmation of water resistance before extended sea use receive a written test result alongside the service report. This is carried out in our own chamber — not outsourced and not merely assumed on the basis of new gaskets.

A Conversation, Not a Counter Transaction

Owners who wish to understand what is happening inside their watch are encouraged to ask. The workshop is a place where questions are answered directly. The aim is for each owner to leave with a clearer understanding of their watch than when they arrived.
