The name is a pairing of the Thai word for dawn — aroon — and the Latin root for time — tempus — chosen to reflect the workshop's unhurried relationship with the watches it cares for.
The founder, Wanchai Prasoet, trained in Switzerland before returning to Thailand and spending several years working within a Bangkok service centre. He came to Phuket drawn by the particular demands of a coastal environment: salt air, humidity, and the wear patterns that accumulate on a watch worn through months of sea activity. Those conditions informed the decision to develop a specialist beach-wear refresh service alongside standard mechanical work, and later to invest in a certified depth-pressure chamber for dive watch calibration.
The workshop does not operate as a counter service. Pieces are accepted by appointment or during workshop hours, logged carefully, and given the time each job actually requires. Written condition reports accompany every watch on its return — a habit that began with the first customer and has continued since.
Today Aroon Tempus carries out mechanical servicing, salt-water refreshes, and marine chronometer calibration work for owners across Phuket and the surrounding islands. The team is small, the space is quiet, and the pace is deliberate. That is not likely to change.

Certified Pressure Testing
Our depth-pressure chamber is calibrated and tested to relevant ISO dive-watch standards. Every piece rated for water resistance receives a documented test result.
Written Condition Reporting
Every watch that leaves the workshop is accompanied by a written note describing its condition on arrival, the work completed, and any observations relevant to the next service interval.
Controlled Storage Environment
Watches in service are kept in a temperature-managed space. Phuket's humidity is monitored and controlled throughout the servicing period to protect movement components during drying and regulation.
Secure Intake Logging
Each watch is logged on arrival with a dated record of its visible condition. Watches are held in individual compartments and tracked through each stage of work until collection.
Pre-Work Inspection Protocol
No work begins until the owner has been informed of the scope and cost. For pieces with an uncertain service history, a brief inspection is carried out and documented before any decisions are made.
Owner Data Privacy
Contact details and watch records are held only for as long as required and are not shared with third parties. Our privacy approach follows applicable Thai data protection frameworks.
Watch servicing in a tropical coastal environment calls for knowledge that extends beyond standard workshop practice. Salt deposits behave differently from ordinary dust; gasket materials degrade at different rates in consistent heat; movements regulated in temperate climates need re-checking after months of wear in humidity. Aroon Tempus has oriented its services around these specific conditions rather than offering a generic menu copied from a mainland urban workshop.

Our pricing reflects actual work: the beach-wear refresh addresses a specific set of tasks suited to watches returning from salt-water use; the mechanical service covers a complete disassembly, clean, lubrication, and regulation; the marine chronometer service encompasses everything required before a watch goes back into extended sea use. There are no add-ons created to inflate an invoice.
Aroon Tempus is a small workshop. The team is not looking to grow rapidly or to process large volumes. The aim is to do careful work, explain it clearly, and be worth returning to.
